l PROCESS DESCRIPTION
Dechlorinated weak brine, after sulfate removal, is collected and returned to the Salt Dissolver. Saturated brine from the Salt Dissolver is delivered to the Baffle Mixer where Sodium Hypochlorite and Sodium Hydroxide are added prior to the Reaction Tank. The brine is them delivered to a Pressurized Air Dissolver, after which Ferric Chloride is added before delivering to the Pre-Treatment Tank for magnesium removal. The pre-treated brine is delivered to a second Reaction Tank where Sodium Carbonate is added to precipitate the calcium. The treated brine is then delivered to the SF Membrane Filtration Units. Small amount of sodium Sulfite is added to remove any residual free chlorine before sending to the Brine Ion Exchangers system.
l PROCESS FEATURES
(1) Ease of operation, fully automatic system. Compared to conventional method there is no requirement for cleaning of clarifier, pre-coating, thus reducing man power.
(2) Simple Process, reducing the suspended solids from around 1000 mg/L to below 1 mg/L.
(3) Consistent filtration operation and brine quality.
(4) Shanghai U-Lum’s biaxial expandable membrane has a capacity 1.5 times that of the uniaxial membrane, saving modification cost.
(5) The process is suitable for various type of brine, including well brine, well brine + sea salt, lake salt.
